Film is a doorway.

We can take one object and depict it in many different ways using the camera, or special effects. Foreshorten it, place it on the moon, or in a fishbowl. Special effects have their place—but they should never supplant a good story.

Ravenshoe Media uses 3D, After Effects, mattes, and painting techniques in limited amounts to support—never to overwhelm the story.

Animated 3D landscapes explain a concept, such as Ontario’s Greenbelt arising from an ancient glacier, or demonstrate scale, such as Toronto’s CN Tower being dwarfed by three kilometers of ice.

Digital painting-on-glass is used creatively to evoke an emotional  response and to immerse the viewer. More than animation, it makes use of blurring and flashes of colour the way we would appreciate it in real life. We experience motion like that —not in 60 frames per second.
