Film is a doorway…

…into “The Fire Cats of Santa Rosa”

On October 9, 2017, a series of wildfires devastated Santa Rosa, California and families had seconds in the middle of the night to grab what they could, and flee. In the chaos thousands of family pets perished or were lost. As photographs of injured dogs and cats in animal shelters floods social media sites, animal lovers did the crowd-sourcing detective work that the shelters could not, matching pets with their families. The idea for the documentary The Fire Cats of Santa Rosa grew from the first week of the fire, but as the animal rescuers dealt with the endless task of tracking these the most elusive of family pets, the story grew in the months that followed into one that covered their heroic efforts to return something to the families who had lost everything.

Currently in post-production.

Greenbelt: Gift from a Glacier

(acquired by Nelson Education)

The challenge was to make a video about Greenbelt farmland interesting and, although we couldn’t find a way to squeeze our favorite mammoths in (mastodons roamed Ontario instead), we managed to hop back in time and show just how thick the glacier was that once covered Ontario by comparing it to the CN tower.
